Essay on Assignment 6

This assignment is a follow up to assignment six (6). We were given an opportunity to choose group members to complete an assignment and presentation. This assignment and presentation was a group project consisting of five group members. The assignment and presentation are a formulation of a learning kit and a presentation on how the learning kit can be integrated into the classroom. The purpose of the learning kit is to teach Grade three (3) Students the topic “Germination”. Germination is a topic that is required by the St. Kitts and Nevis Grade three (3) Science curriculum.  However, this lesson is themed “The birth of a plant”. The learning kit includes a lesson plan, a self-instructional material, notes on germination, a worksheet and a log sheet. 

This learning kit aims to satisfy a thirty minutes grade three (3) Science lesson on the topic “Germination”. The objectives of this lesson were for students to understand and describe the process of germination, state the conditions necessary for germination, follow the instructions required by the instructional material and observe how seeds react to environmental factors. The aims of this lesson are for students to have an understanding of how plants grow and to value and appreciate the plants in their environment.
